FAQ's

What should I do with a knocked out or displaced tooth?
A tooth that has been knocked out starts to die within 15 minutes, but if you put it in milk or hold it in your mouth it will survive longer. If dirty, gently rinse the tooth with water, remembering not to handle the root surface.

  • Do not use soap or chemicals.
  • Do not scrub the tooth.
  • Do not dry the tooth.
  • Do not wrap it in a tissue or cloth.

How can I treat dental pain?
For dental pain relief we recommend paracetamol based products and/or anti-inflammatories as long as you have no medical conditions that precludes the use of these substances. Take as recommended on the packet. Do not take aspirin based pain relief if you are going to require dental treatment.

For stronger pain relief contact your pharmacist.

Symptoms of dental nerve damage are:
  • Lingering tooth sensitivity to hot or cold liquids
  • Tooth sensitivity to sweets
  • Tooth pain to biting pressure
  • Impulsive, constant or intermittent tooth pain
